Alice Madness Returns: Steam Dress by rurik0 Alice Madness Returns: Steam Dress by rurik0
I decided to do steamdress Alice since I had the temptation to take up the challenge of making her prop.
The prop was REALLY REALLY challenging and required alot of work. But now that it's done, words can't even describe the sense of satisfaction I get just from looking at it! I'm IN LOVE with my hobby horse.

Anyway, the prop was really really heavy at the event and Nic took turns to relief me in carrying it. Some event goers event thought that he was cosplaying due to him carrying the prop (I don't even know how that's possible!)

All in all, I had a GREAT time cosing Alice. As much discomfort as I had expected the costume to be - considering being covered from neck to toe-, it was a fun character to cos and many people came up to me to tell me I did a great job. I am really happy and satisfied as my efforts really paid off!

I really like this piece! I think it is very striking. The only thing I could think of to improve upon was the pose is a little predictable but I think it is still a very strong piece overall. The prop is truly breath taking and the coloring and model are very strong. There are a couple of areas that the contrast between different items is a little low but it doesn't really detract from the strength of the piece as a whole. I love how strong and saturated the colors are it really makes them pop for me. :) Overall I am glad to have found it :D

Hi, It weights about 2.5 Kg but feels heavier coz you are holding it on a pole.

You're an adorable Alice, and that hobby horse is gorgeous!
(* o *) Do you mind if I ask what you made the head out of?
